Grosse Pointe Relocation
Why should you relocate to Grosse Pointe MI? When I talk about Grosse Pointe I talk about the 5 Grosse Pointe communities. If you would like a Grosse Pointe relocation guide email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Located on the southwestern shore of Lake St. Clair, Grosse Pointe is a community of close-knit residential neighborhoods. The city is known for it's elegant estate, tree-lined streets, and lakeside recreational facilities. At one point in time the area was home to the movers and shakers of Detroit. Many auto company owners had estates in the Pointes. It was home to the richest people in Detroit at one time. Even the mob top bosses lived there. The picturesque retail district provides unique shopping and business opportunities. The communities sit right on the water and many have parks on the lake shore. Grosse Pointe residents enjoy a distinctive small-town atmosphere, and yet are within easy reach of the nation’s fifth largest metropolitan area and the entire Great Lakes region. The result is a delightful mix of the traditional and the contemporary flavored with a strong sense of community. Certainly, this is why Grosse Pointe has a national reputation as one of America’s most charming small and exclusive cities.
So getting back to why you should make a Grosse Pointe relocation is because, it is just a short drive to downtown high rises and all the downtown area has to offer. It is considered a prestigious city with a good reputation and good schools. Grosse Pointe was incorporated as a village in 1880, but at that time also included what is now Grosse Pointe Farms. The community was divided along its present lines in 1893 over issues of allowing the sale of alcohol. It was incorporated as a city in 1934. All five communities have their own government. There is no big commercial area, no high rises, no major office complexes. There are no factories. There is only businesses that are located along Mack Avenue and Kercheval. The area is truly a small quaint affluent residential area.
The demographics for the communities is good. Many of the local residents have college degrees or higher. The median age in the city is 44.7 years. 26.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 19.3% were from 25 to 44; 33.4% were from 45 to 64; and 16.1% were 65 years of age or older. The majority of the residents I would say are white collar workers, yes there may be some blue collar workers on the western edges of the city.
The Pointes have mature trees because so many of the homes and landscaping were put in years ago. If you drive down the street you will see neatly manicured lawns and well maintained home. Fall in the pointes if very beautiful when the trees change colors. You will see people running, walking, or taking their dogs for a walk throughout the day and evening. I would call the area "hometown USA". It would be like the great photos you see in magazines.
Like I had mentioned earlier Grosse Pointe is located on the edge of Lake St. Clair. To the north you will find many marinas to dock your boat. Jefferson Avenue or Lakeshore Drive as they call it runs along the water. In many places you have beautiful views of the lake. On a beautiful day the sidewalks in this area have people jogging, and walking with the kids. I-94 runs along the western edge of the communities so you can get anywhere in the Metro Detroit area fast.
If you are going to be taking a job with General Motors, or being hired by Compuware, or Quicken Loans, or one of the big law firms in Detroit a Grosse Pointe relocation makes a lot of sense. I have had clients that worked at BASF downriver chose to live here because they could drive down I-94 and get to work easy. So working in Dearborn at Ford Motor Company would be easy too.
I have worked with many of the major relocation companies so give me a call. I will work hard to find you a want that meets your priorities, wants, and needs. My goal is to make your move to Michigan easier. So feel free to give me a call with any questions. (248) 310-6239
