Livonia Real Estate

So if you are moving to the Detroit area you may be interested in finding out what Livonia real estate is like.  Livonia is a sold middle to upper class city with an abundant variety of homes.  You will find just about every type of home that has been built right here in Livonia.  There are bungalows, ranches, colonials, cape cods, and split level homes.

 Livonia Homes

If I had to say what were the two prevalent types of Livonia real estate I would have to say that they are the ranch style home and the colonial.  There are hundreds of ranch homes that range from 1000-1200 square feet.  These brick ranches usually have basements, two car attached garages, 3 bedrooms, Kitchen, and 1+ bathrooms.  They are all over the city.  The second style is like the home above.  Many Livonia colonials are in the 1600- 2500 square foot range.  The exteriors are brick, with vinyl, aluminum or wood.  They are usually two car attached garages, 3+ bedrooms, 2+ baths, basement, family rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and the kitchen.  Many of them have first floor laundries too.

Most of the homes were built in the 1950's -1980's.  The homes during this period had small master baths, and 8' ceilings.  In about the 1990's the building styles changed to open layouts, great rooms with soaring ceilings, large master suites with walkin closets, and large master baths.  Because Livonia was such a desirable city almost every vacant lot and vacant property had builders putting up new homes.  Low crime rates, good schools, and easy access to the highways made Livonia real estate very desirable.  Plus it was reasonably priced.  You could using find the same size and style home in Livonia for a little less than you could find them in Plymouth, Northville, or Novi.

I myself lived in Livonia for 22 years.  I highly recommend it to anybody buying a home in the Wayne or Oakland County area.  Whether you are looking for a nice bungalow, a tri-level, or a colonial you will find it right here in the city.  The older subdivisions will have fenced yards or allow you to fence it for your children or your dog.  The newer subdivisions that were built after 1985 will usually not allow fences.  Many subdivisions have sidewalks and street lamps.  So come check out Livonia real estate.  You will be glad you did.
