Novi Real Estate
If you are relocating to Michigan you might wonder what Novi real estate I and Novi home styles are like and whether you can afford them. Are they really in your budget. First let me explain about Novi and the history. Novi was a farming community so there are a few older homes scattered about the city.
90% of the city is subdivisions. The neighborhoods vary whether they have sidewalks or not. The older subdivisions are more likely to allow fenced yards. In most new Novi subdivisions you cannot have a fenced yard unless you have a pool in the yard. You cannot fence your garden or have a dog run. It is just not allowed in the newer subdivisions.
Most real estate in Novi has brick exterior exteriors with some vinyl, aluminum, or wood too. Most have 2 + car attached garages, basements, and 3+ bedrooms. There is 2 medium sized lake and several smaller lakes in the city. Walled Lake is just partially in Novi. It is the only all sports lake in the city. So there are some waterfront properties in the community.
Novi homes and subs mostly started building after the 1950’s and 1960’s. Some of these older homes a sprawling brick ranches that are on slabs or basements. They are probably some of the least expensive homes in Novi. You will find that the older homes in Novi are mainly east of Taft Road. As the city grew it grew west. So you will find the bigger newer homes on the Western part of the city. The homes with the largest lots are on the western part of the city too.

Many Novi homes were built in the 1960’s to 1980’s. They are the typical Metro Detroit home style. I think the builders back then had all the same layouts. Colonial homes had a family room, living room, dining room, kitchen, half bath, and a laundry on the first floor.
As I said as you go west the homes get bigger. There are two newer gated subdivision in Novi. The one neighborhood that is finished is Bellagio full of very elegant estate sized homes on spacious lots. Many professionals, and sports starts live in the sub. As you go along Beck Road you will find many neighborhoods with 3000 – 5000 square foot homes. Basically you can find just about any type of Novi real estate you want. The only style that is lacking is bungalows. Novi is not a bungalow community. I hope this give you a little idea of the homes in the community.
