If you are looking to buy or sell a home in Novi MI you want the best real estate agent you can get. What makes a good real estate agent? You do not want a newbie to handle your transaction. Do you want them to learn and make the mistakes so many new agents make. One of the important items in a real estate transaction is writing addendums to a purchase agreement.
I have had two many people call me after the fact, after their agent messed up. These people that have called me have already made a mistake by hiring the wrong realtor and now they are trying to figure a way out of the mess they are in. I have had home buyers call me to tell me that they are going to lose their earnest money if they do not buy a money pit or a home that has issues. I recently received a call from a buyer. The home was structually unsound but the way the contract and the addendum was written the buyer now had to buy the house. The inspection clause was poorly written by the agent.
Another one I remember was about a well. The agent had written an addendum but failed to put in what the well pressure had to be. The sellers said it was fixed and both parties were arguing about it. The buyers ended up losing $3000 in earnest money. All because their agent did not write a good inspection addendum.

- A good negotiator - an agent that knows how to negotiate well will save you thousands of dollars and get you the best deal possible.
- A full time agent - if you hire an agent that is part time they are not focused on your deal. They have other irons in the fire. I have seen airline stewardesses be agents but not be around when they were needed because they were on a flight. I have seen part time agents that were mothers that were too busy because their children were home from school. Part time agents have different priorities that may not be your priorities.
- An experienced agent knows how to handle big and little issues that arise in the sale or purchase of your home. Some of it becomes second nature. They can relieve your stress because they can sometime get you an answer immediately. They know how to solve the problem because they probably have dealt with it before. A newer agent cannot.
- Is more than a one man shop.....many times one man or one woman real estate shops do not respond to showing requests, or offers. They have no boss over them and sometimes they do not care if they are bad real estate agent.
