If you have a Northville relocation in your future you will want more information about the community. If you do not know Northville is actually two separate and distinct communities. The City of Northville which is about 2 square miles in size and the surrounding Northville Township. Many buyers in teh metro Detroit area consider Northville to be a better area or what I consider a pretigious community. I have some buyers that would not even consider other cities in the western suburbs. I would call it a semi- affluent community that is mostly white collar.
One of the biggest draws about living in Northville is the historic centralized downtown. It is not a huge downtown area. Only a few blocks long and wide but a lively, active downtown. Between the Chamber of Commerce and the downtown development authority they work hard to put together events that will bring visitors to the downtown area. The downtown area is full of different restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. There are no national chain restaurants or bars down there. Just simple mom and pop restaurants that offer great food. Of course there are local boutique type stores that have all sorts of enteresting merchandise. At one time Northville Downs harness racing track that is within walking distance brought a lot of people to the area too. So whether it is a weekday or weekend night you will see people walking around downtown.

Northville is one of the special towns that have that sense of community and makes you want to live there because it is so fun. Even if you live in the area you will find yourself in Downtown Northville a couple of times a year.
If you are relocating to Northville another concern you are probably going to have is how are the schools? Northville schools are some of the best in not only Wayne County but southeastern Michigan. You will find enthusiast teachers that will have your children ready for college. Students consistently score high on their ACT's, SAT's, and state MEAP tests. The schools competitive sports teams do well in the region too.
Northville MI is a very safe city if you are wondering if Northville is a safe place to live. How is the crime in the city. A murder is very rare in the city. I honestly cannot remember when one happened. Most crime is going to be what I call random or occasional. It is going to be more of a kid vandalizing a car than a weekly mugging. Muggings and home invasions do not happen in the city. Northville is far enough off the path of Detroit's criminals so you will not see that. It is a safe community with a good police for there to protect you. You will be glad you chose to relocate to Northville for just the safety aspect.
Highways
The ease of getting around Metro Detroit via the highway system. I-275 is just a 1/2 mile from the eastern edge of the city. I-96/M-14 is a mile from the southern edge and I-696 is about four miles from the northern edge. It is only about a 35-40 minute ride to the airport from anywhere in Northville. Ann Arbor is less than a half an hour and Downtown Detroit is about the same distance as the airport. So where ever you work you will be able to get their easy.
Homes
Real estate in Northville MI is very desirable because of the 4 factors listed above. Good schools, little crime, ease of getting around, and a active community that is fun make Northville relocation a smart move. Because the homes are very desirable you will find that the homes cost a little more than a similar house in surrounding communities like Farmington, or Livonia. Downtown Northville homes are very desirable and many times are over $200 a square foot. You can find small ranches, Victorians, split levels, and colonial style homes in the city. It is an affluent community but not as affluent as Bloomfield Hills. You will find big homes here but you will not find the quantity of multi million dollar homes as you would in Bloomfield Hills. So the way I would describe Northville is an affluent community that does have reasonable homes for many white collar families and also have some beautiful million dollar homes too.
